Stamford team welcome new doctors
We’re really delighted to welcome new GPs Dr Hannah Waddingham, Dr Raef Abdelnour and Dr Mena Khela to our Stamford Surgery team.
Dr Waddingham and Dr Khela are both new to the practice and joined as GP Partners while Dr Abdelnour was a registrar here and became a salaried GP.
Dr Khela
Dr Waddingham and Dr Khela are both new to the practice and joined as GP Partners while Dr Abdelnour was a registrar here and became a salaried GP.
Dr Khela worked as a GP abroad before training in the UK. He joined Stamford as it is a big surgery that offers scope to develop.
He said: ‘There is a wide patient demographic and more services than at my previous practice so there are lots of areas of interest and where I can expand my knowledge and do more. I have an interest in women’s health and I deal with contraception, coils, implants and long acting reversible contraceptives plus menopause and minor surgeries for skin and lesions. I have a special interest in paediatrics and I am hoping to finish more studies in dermatology this year. The team here is really amazing and it is very busy.’
Dr Waddingham
Dr Waddingham said: ‘I have recently relocated to the area from North London where I did my GP training and had been a partner for six years in Enfield. It has been a long-term decision based on great schools, environment and work opportunities in the area to make the move out of the big city.
I look forward to being part of a friendly and welcoming team and continuing to practice general family medicine. I have a special interest in dermatology, children and women’s health including coil and implant fitting.’
Dr Abdelnour
Dr Abdelnour worked in Peterborough City Hospital before training as a GP. His final year was at Stamford and he liked it so much that he wanted to stay.
He said: ‘I like the team here, the managers, partners, admin, reception, everyone so I thought that I would like to work with a group like that. I get support from the team and there is always a Partner to go to if I need help or advice.
During the first year I will be settling and getting used to the additional responsibilities, however I would like to specialise in a particular area once I am embedded in the practice.’
Dr Romek Wiles
Dr Tom Eames
The Stamford team is also delighted that Dr Romek Wiles has now become a GP Partner, while Dr Tom Eames, a familiar face, has returned. He said: ‘After a year working away from Stamford, it is great to be back with the Stamford Surgery team again. I look forward to working with everyone across our two sites and continuing to provide healthcare to the people of our town.’
