Staying safe in hot weather
High temperatures are set to continue over the coming days. Hot weather can affect anyone, but some people are more likely to become unwell or struggle to stay cool and hydrated.
Older people, babies and young children, and people living with long-term health conditions may be at greater risk. It is important to check in on friends, family members and neighbours, especially anyone who lives alone.
A cool living space can make a real difference during hot weather. Try to keep rooms shaded, close curtains or blinds on sunny windows, and avoid unnecessary heat from ovens or appliances where possible. Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day and look out for signs that someone may be struggling with the heat.
Please take a moment to check that those around you have what they need to stay safe, cool and hydrated.
